Fourth year... Well its safe to say that it hasnt been very successful for me so far, Im feeling a wee bit  misunderstood or something?? I dont think that my ideas and vision are coming across exactly as I want them to? Working on my major project, and struggling to get it into a coherent entity. In light of that, I am posting one of the most inspirational shoots I have ever seen, one that comes back to me every time I try to envision the theatrics and fashion that I wish to embody in my work. The shoot was photographed by Tim Walker for Italian Vogue. And I am in LOVE with it!!

...Spot In My Heart

I am writing this post for someone who has helped, taught and inspired me more than I could ever have hoped for from a chance meeting. I suppose thats the way fate works isnt it? Blanaid Hennessy is a stylist, interior designer, writer, blogger and all around inspirational human being, and along with becoming the stunning model for our collaborative image making, she has also helped me with career advice, opening doors, belief in a student struggling to find her style, arranging shoots etc. Invaluable contributions to my future as a photographer, for which I am so appreciative! In a less direct/personal way, her 'Fancy Friday' blog posts are forever providing insights and snippets of hope into my very mixed up and confusing life! And I know I am not the only person who feels this way! So a massive Thank You Blanaid! You are an inspiration!

...Old School

So fourth year has begun, and I am feeling a tad nostalgic for first year!! Im finding it hard to believe that we are going to be graduating in a matter of months now... So here are some of the very first images I took in first year, at the start of a very productive image making relationship between Sinead Bailey Kelly and myself. She is a constant source of inspiration, and I do believe that it is impossible to take a bad photo of her!! The inspiration for this shoot was David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars era. Even though I like to think I have progressed in the last 3 years, I still love this shoot! Although...Now that I start looking all I want to do is go back into the dark room and adjust the contrast etc!!

This shoot also taught us a very important lesson! No matter how good an image is, if the nail varnish is chipped, the image is ruined! Lesson hard learned!!

...Change of Time

Autumn/Winter is here and this couldnt make me happier! I am much more comfortable in the winter months than the summer, and this has a lot to do with the weather and the resulting need for layers in clothing, I have a little love affair with layers!! Here are some of the things I will be looking out for in my coming shopping sprees. I will definitely be investing in lots of lovely jumpers and wooly socks, nothing better!!

...Tis Ma Birthday!!

For those of you that know me, you will understand how amazing this present is for me!! I have a wee preoccupation with Bill Bailey (I want to marry him!!) and by association Manny, and my absolute favourite quote from Black Books comes from the very first episode when Manny swallows 'The Little Book of Calm' and turns into a Jebus type! Big thanks to Dan for making my birthday perfect, present = little bubbles of happiness!!

So whenever your feeling particularly stressed: Add a dab of lavender to milk. Leave town with an orange, and pretend you're laughing at it!!
